Looking ahead, Samsung has already registered the names Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 for the 2024 and 2025 versions of the world's most popular foldable phones, respectively
Samsung refreshed the names of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in September, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Fold 7. However, the Flip 6 and Flip 7 names have only just been revealed. As for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung is expected to upgrade its cameras next year. According to sources, Samsung is testing the Galaxy Z Flip 6 with a 50MP main camera. This would be a significant upgrade compared to the 12MP main camera that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 had.

Keep in mind that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 already has a 50MP main camera that is a homegrown Samsung ISOCELL GN3 camera sensor. The 50MP sensors for the Flip 6 and Fold 6 could be the new ISOCELL GNK currently used by the Pixel 8 Pro . The sensor uses Dual Pixel Pro autofocus to quickly focus on moving objects in the frame and captures 14-bit RAW images that offer vibrant colors.
Coming back to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Flip 7 names, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Fold 7, Samsung has also filed an application with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). This suggests that any other company, other than Samsung, will likely not be able to use these names until 2024 and 2025. They should think carefully before using them. It is worth noting that Samsung did not file for names that could be associated with cheaper variants of its foldable phones, whether in clamshell or book style.
Rumors of a low-cost Galaxy Z foldable were denied by Samsung last week. The rumors had suggested a foldable model costing between $400-500 (compared to $999.99 for the Flip 5 and $1,799.99 for the Fold 5).
